Classical Pilates Mat classes at Inspiral Motion are conducted in 8 week sessions. The first day of class is the most basic day (of that level) and the class slowly progresses over the weeks, increasing in intensity and complexity. Students are taken safely through the levels and may not advance until they are proficient in the movement patterns and concepts of their specific level.

Pilates Level 1

The Level 1 Pilates mat course begins with the basic concepts behind Pilates work and builds toward level 2 exercises. This course focuses on breathing, pelvis stability, joint release, spinal imprinting, initiating and building abdominal strength, flexibility, spinal alignment, and elongating muscle groups to enable efficient movement. This class is ideal for beginners or those who wish to review the Pilates Fundamentals to ensure accuracy and stability before moving toward the more advanced work.

This class teaches students the basic movement patterns (Fundamentals) behind the Pilates work to enable correct execution and advancement without injury. These classes are limited in size.

Students should understand imprinting, stabilization for mobilization, breathing, and core engagement before moving on.
