Become a Teacher

Before anything else, you’ll need exposure to the GYROTONIC® Method!  Taking private or group lessons with a certified instructor will get some experience under your belt. You will need at least 10 hours of practice before you start training; Inspiral Motion requires 15 hours (preferably more!)

GYROTONIC® training consists of 5 steps.

Step 1: “Pre-Training” is a six-day intensive movement workshop conducted over two weekends or 6 consecutive days. There is a lot of movement material covered and the training gets quite advanced at the end! 30 hours

Step 2: “Foundation Training” is an intensive, 12+ day course where you learn how to teach the GYROTONIC® method through the use of imagery, hand cues, and a syllabus. 60 hours

Step 3: “Certified Apprentice Teaching.”  After successful completion of Foundation Training, you become a Certified Apprentice and must teach a minimum of 60 hours. If you don’t have GYROTONIC® equipment of your own, you can rent from a studio. 60 hours

Step 4:  “Apprentice Review Course” is when you must review everything you have learned with your Master Trainer and then learn additional material.  After you complete the Apprentice Review, you can certify.  30 hours

Step 5:  The GYROTONIC® Level 1 Final Certificate Course is both an educational experience and an assessment for certification. Over a period of 3 days, Apprentices must demonstrate their proficiency and understanding by physically completing the GYROTONIC® Level 1 Curriculum themselves as well as through their instruction of a student. After successful completion, you’re officially a certified GYROTONIC® instructor! 15 hours
