Renata is passionate about Pilates. She is kind and patient. Throughout class she analyzes and helps me with the movements to keep my breathing and form correct. She adapts each class on how my body is doing that day. Since starting taking lessons with Renata, my body has become stronger and more flexible. After each class I feel good in body and mind.

Renata is from Brazil and two years ago she moved with her husband and son to Hudson, Ohio. She is a native speaker of Portuguese and is now meeting the challenge to speak English fluently.

Her background education includes 10 years as a Physical Therapist in intensive care units, rehabilitating patients with respiratory problems. Renata has always believed in healing through the hands and movement. Hence she chose 3 techniques to assist the healing process - Pilates, GYROTONIC®, and yoga - to complete her studies.

Her GYROTONIC® trainers include:

  • Rita Renha & Sebastian Plettenberg (Level 1)
  • Fabiana Bernardes (Level 2)
  • Lisa Lansing (Leg Extension Unit)
  • Kathy Van Patten (Gyrotoner)

Renata has been working with GYROTONIC® since 2008 and as a Pilates Educator since 2003. In 2005, she received her American Rehab Pilates Certification from the Polestar Institute. She has also completed workshops with the PhysicalMind Institute.

In February 2016, Renata spent 30 days in India learning the Ayurvedic Yoga Massage technique with the founder, Master Kusum Modak. This therapeutic technique allows for the healing of physical, emotional and spiritual pain through manipulation, stretching and massage.

Besides being a teacher, Renata loves to be a student to enhance her skills and attends weekly classes of Pilates, GYROTONIC®, and yoga.  During her free time, Renata is with her family, cycling in the wonderful Cleveland Metroparks. She feels blessed and grateful to be living in the U.S.A, having the privilege to know and learn from Lisa Lansing.
