Reiki Healing

Reiki Healing is an ancient Energy Medicine practice that
illuminates and balances energy from in the bodies chakras.

Reiki healing is an ancient healing technique that has been gaining popularity in recent years. Reiki originated in Tibet and was used by monks, but was formalized as a practice by Dr. Mikao Usui in Japan in the 1920s.

Today it is used in hospitals, including the Cleveland Clinic and University Hospitals in Cleveland, to help patients after surgery, as well as to help treat chronic diseases like cancer and dementia. It’s also used in wellness + cancer centers, spas, nursing homes and hospice centers to to treat anxiety and heal pain from life’s many hurdles.

Similar to shamanic energy medicine, Reiki works to clear energetic blockages in the physical body, energy centers and luminous energy field, which result in improved health, mood and vitality.

Reiki practitioners sense and move energy in the client's aura and within the body to release blockages, balance chakras, add healing energy where it's needed, and facilitate the person's own healing system, ultimately raising his or her vibration. The person does the healing and the Reiki practitioner only serves to help get the body into its natural ability to heal itself. In this way, the person is the healer and the Reiki practitioner is the facilitator.

Reiki sessions are usually in person, but remote sessions are available.

Reiki sessions are 75 - minutes long and cost $130. We will be offering a $20 discount to individuals who are new to Reiki!

How Does Reiki Work?

  • Reiki is a very high vibrational energy that exists naturally in the Universe.  When receiving reiki, a person's energetic vibrations are raised, creating a higher and higher vibrational state of being.  This begins to push out lower vibrational states of being such as illness, injury, disease, fear, anger and sadness.  These low vibrational states of being begin to vibrate higher, and this creates physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual healing.

    1. Deep relaxation and relief from anxiety

    2. Restoration of the fight or flight response

    3. Clarity of thought

    4. Removes energy blockages and enhances circulation

    5. Detoxification of cells

    6. Increases vitality of life force energy

    7. Raises the vibrational frequency of the body

    8. In some cases, it reduces pain

    9. In some cases, it heals physical, emotional and soul trauma

    10. Ignites the natural healing systems of the body

  • First, you will explain your reason for seeking Reiki and then, you lie down on a massage table. Laurie will use some traditional hand positions but also uses her unique ability to sense where attention is needed unique to each client.  Laurie will work both on the body and above the body in the aura.  Each session is individualized to the needs and energy of the client for a customized session and best results. Sometimes Laurie (and / or you) receives messages during the session which are discussed upon completion.

  • “Energy flows where our attention goes.” Reiki involves the transfer of energy through the practitioner to the client. Reiki practitioners channel energy through the body to restore balance, increase vibration and vitality, ignite healing systems within and create a place of deep relaxation.

 

Meet Laurie, our Reiki Practitioner

Laurie Zebrasky is certified in Reiki at both the Usui Master/Teacher level and Holy Fire® Master/Teacher level.  Her Reiki journey began over five years ago when Reiki and energy work “recruited” her in a beautiful series of events and dreams that she could not ignore.  Following this path, Laurie experienced a gift for energy work that she didn’t know was there all along.  This brought her to meet Lisa and experience shamanic practices, deepening a respect for our spiritual nature and ability to heal.  Laurie is deeply honored to offer Reiki healing energy sessions at Coral Poppy. 

An Ohio native, Laurie has lived and worked in Northeast Ohio for over 50 years.  She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker, PreK-3 Teacher, and just finished a year-long certification to become a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI).  Laurie has been working at Cleveland Sight Center for the last ten years in Early Intervention (birth to 3 services).  With her new TVI credential, she is switching roles and is the new TVI for their on-site preschool.  She’s working part-time (Monday-Thursday) with preschool children who are visually impaired, blind, and deaf-blind.  This change has opened a door for Laurie to offer Reiki services, and she is feeling called to share this beautiful healing energy with others now. 

A proud mom to two children in their twenties, Laurie’s Reiki and spiritual journey have influenced her to become more deeply connected with nature in every way.  She loves being near moving water… You can find her near (or in!) creeks, rivers, and waterfalls, big and small.  She’ll be either hiking or kayaking, looking for turtles in the Metroparks and CVNP.  She loves butterflies, flowers, and trips to one of her favorite places, Ohiopyle State Park in Pennsylvania, close to where her ancestors settled many years ago.
